PRAFULLA KUMAR, CEO

Prafulla Kumar is a polymath whose compelling journey spans academia, media, and social activism, accumulating over three decades of professional excellence and an unwavering commitment to social causes. Before venturing into the media domain, Prafulla served as a History lecturer at Delhi University, showcasing his early passion for education.

With a multifaceted career in media, Prafulla has navigated the realms of scriptwriting, directing, and branding strategy over the past three decades. Serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Unity Films since 2014, he propelled the production house to new heights, injecting creativity into brand narratives. Earlier, as the Editor-in-Chief of "Saubhahya Mithila," the first Maithili Channel, he played a pivotal role in promoting Maithili heritage and culture.

An accomplished author, Prafulla penned the critically acclaimed political commentary, "Candle March" (2014-15), offering insightful perspectives on socio-political movements, notably the Anna Hazare movement. His contributions extended to bylines in LokPrasang Magazine from 2010 to 2014, where he delved into socio-political issues in Bihar, particularly the Mithila Region.

Beyond his media endeavors, Prafulla Kumar is a dedicated social activist. Since 2013, he has chaired the Samita Mishra Memorial Foundation for Cancer Research, spearheading the "Cancer Bhagao" campaign for early cancer detection and intervention. His social commitments also include advising the Global AIDS Research Foundation (2010-2012), founding and serving on the board of "Pahal" (2005-2010) for the upliftment of the girl child, and organizing secretary for Narayan Sewa Sansthan (2000-2005) in the mission for polio eradication.

In recognition of his outstanding efforts, Prafulla Kumar has received prestigious awards, including recognition by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, for promoting Maithili Heritage and Culture Tourism. Honors from the Mithila Sanskritic Samanway Samiti, Guwahati, Assam, further underscore his significant contributions to Maithili culture.
